Where this card fits —
the high-spend ceiling
Platinum is not a different earning product from Cornèrcard Gold — it's the same 1 mile per CHF 1 Diners rate, with unlimited Priority Pass lounge access and no monthly earning cap layered on top for a CHF 750 annual fee. The question isn't "which card earns more" — they earn identically. It's whether the lounge access and higher ceiling are worth CHF 530/year more than Gold.
We cover it in more depth as part of our full Swiss credit card comparison — this page is the focused, standalone version.

Pick your situation
CHF 30,000+/year on the Diners → Platinum earns its fee back
At CHF 30k/year spend, the extra CHF 530 fee over Gold is a small fraction of the miles you're already earning — and you get unlimited lounge access on top.
Often enough to value unlimited lounge access → Platinum
If you'd otherwise buy individual lounge passes or a standalone Priority Pass membership several times a year, Platinum's unlimited access alone can justify the fee independent of spend level.
Under CHF 20,000/year and rarely need a lounge → Gold instead
Identical earning rate, CHF 530/year cheaper. See the Cornèrcard Gold review — for most people, this is the better default.
The case for paying
the CHF 530 premium
Because Platinum and Gold earn identically, the entire case for Platinum rests on two things that have nothing to do with miles: lounge access and the absence of a monthly earning cap. If neither applies to you, Gold is strictly better value — there's no earning-rate argument for Platinum on its own.
- Standalone Priority Pass membership: often CHF 300-400/year on its own, before per-visit guest fees
- 4-6 lounge visits/year at typical CHF 40-60 walk-in rates would otherwise cost roughly what the CHF 530 premium buys
- If you're already flying enough to hit that many lounge visits, Platinum is close to a wash even before counting the extra 5,000-mile welcome bonus
Platinum isn't a better earning card than Gold — it's the same card with a travel-perks subscription attached. Whether that subscription is worth CHF 530 depends entirely on how much you fly, not how much you spend.
Frequently asked
questions
Is the Cornèrcard Miles & More Platinum + Diners combo worth it? +
Only above roughly CHF 30,000 in annual card spend, or if you fly often enough to make real use of unlimited Priority Pass lounge access. The earning rate (1 mile per CHF 1) is identical to the cheaper Gold tier — Platinum's CHF 750 fee buys lounge access and no earning cap, not a better rate.
What's the actual difference between Cornèrcard Gold and Platinum? +
Same 1 mile per CHF 1 Diners rate, same underlying mechanics. Platinum adds unlimited Priority Pass Prestige lounge access, removes any monthly earning cap, and costs CHF 750/year versus CHF 220 for Gold.
Is unlimited lounge access worth CHF 530 more per year than Gold? +
Depends entirely on how often you fly. If you'd otherwise pay for individual lounge visits or a separate Priority Pass membership more than a handful of times a year, the math favours Platinum. Occasional flyers are better served by Gold and paying for lounge access separately when needed.
