Where this card fits —
the earning machine
Cornèrcard is a Ticino-based bank most Swiss residents north of Lugano have never heard of. Their Miles & More Gold + Diners combo is not the card with the biggest headline number on our Card Offers page — that's usually Amex, running an elevated promo. It's the card that quietly out-earns everything else once you're past the first month, because the base rate is simply better than anything else on this list.
We cover it in more depth as part of our full Swiss credit card comparison — this page is the focused, standalone version.
- Welcome bonuses, annual fees, and earning rates change frequently — always verify on cornercard.ch before applying
- Meilenguru is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cornèrcard
- This guide is for informational purposes only — not financial advice
- Cornèrcard is running an elevated welcome bonus of 40,000 M&M miles guaranteed on the Gold combo, up from the standard 10,000
- Plus automatic entry into a draw for 25 × 25,000 extra miles — so up to 65,000 in the best case
- Half-price first-year annual fee during the promo; applications must be in by 29 November 2026

Why it works
- Best base earning rate in Switzerland (1 mile/CHF 1 on Diners)

The trade-offs

Who this card
is for
Pick your situation
CHF 1,000-2,000/month on everyday expenses → this is your card
The 1 mile/CHF 1 Diners rate is the best in Switzerland for regular spending, and the CHF 220 fee is easily justified at this spend level.
CHF 30,000+/year → consider Cornèrcard Platinum instead
Same earning rate, but unlimited Priority Pass lounge access starts paying for the higher CHF 750 fee once your spend (and travel frequency) is high enough.
The single biggest welcome bonus → Amex Platinum instead
45,000 MR points standard (sometimes elevated further) beats this card's welcome bonus outright — but the 2:1 transfer ratio to M&M and CHF 900 fee mean Gold still wins on ongoing spend.
The case for the earning rate
over the bonus
It's tempting to rank cards purely by welcome bonus size — it's the single easiest number to compare. Cornèrcard Gold loses that comparison to Amex Platinum, sometimes by a wide margin. But a welcome bonus is a one-time event; the earning rate is what happens every month after.
- CHF 1,500/month on Diners at 1 mile/CHF 1 = 18,000 miles/year, on top of the welcome bonus
- The same spend on Amex (1 MR/CHF 1, 2:1 transfer) = 9,000 M&M miles/year — half as much
- Over two years, Gold's ongoing earning alone overtakes the entire gap in welcome bonus size versus Amex
A welcome bonus happens once. The earning rate happens every month you use the card — and at 1 mile per CHF 1, this is the rate everything else on this page is measured against.
None of this means the welcome bonus doesn't matter — it's still real money's worth of miles on day one. It means the right lens is total miles over a realistic holding period, not just the headline figure at signup — and on that measure, Gold is hard to beat for its fee.
Frequently asked
questions
Is the Cornèrcard Miles & More Gold + Diners combo worth it? +
For most Swiss residents earning M&M miles from everyday spending, yes — the Diners Club card earns 1 mile per CHF 1, the best base rate available in Switzerland, with a low CHF 220 annual fee (CHF 110 in year one). The welcome bonus is smaller than Swisscard's elevated promos or Amex Platinum, but the ongoing earning rate does more work over a full year of use.
How does Cornèrcard Gold compare to Cornèrcard Platinum? +
Both earn the same 1 mile per CHF 1 on Diners. Platinum adds unlimited Priority Pass lounge access and no monthly earning cap, for a much higher CHF 750 annual fee. Gold is the better default; Platinum only pays for itself above roughly CHF 30,000 in annual card spend.
What happens if Diners Club isn't accepted somewhere? +
The Gold combo includes a Mastercard alongside the Diners card specifically for this — use the Diners wherever it's accepted for the 1:1 rate, and the Mastercard as a fallback everywhere else.
