What these miles
actually get you

Here's what the earning actually gets you. Real routes, real redemption ranges, benchmarked against cash prices. These are ranges — dynamic pricing means the exact number moves around. But this gives you a realistic target to aim for.

Earning vs redemption — the bottom line

Achievable in Year 1

Business Class to New York

With a Cornèrcard Gold welcome bonus (40,000 miles) and 12 months of CHF 1,500/month spend (18,000 miles), you reach 58,000+ miles — enough for a one-way Business Class redemption to New York on a good pricing day or via Flying Blue Promo Award.

~58,000
Miles achievable Year 1 — without flying
Achievable in Year 1–2

First Class to Asia

Cornèrcard Platinum promo (up to 85,000 miles) + 12 months spend at 1 mile/CHF 1 puts First Class to Singapore or Tokyo within reach in Year 1 alone. Normal spend over 18–24 months achieves the same with any Gold-tier card combo.

~100,000
Miles achievable Year 1–2 combined
How to read these benchmarks
  • Dynamic pricing means ranges, not fixed numbers. Miles & More and Flying Blue both price awards based on demand and timing. The ranges above reflect typical real-world redemptions, not theoretical minimums.
  • Always compare to cash price first. A redemption only makes sense if it beats what you'd pay in cash. Target redemptions above CHF 5 centimes per mile in Business, CHF 8+ in First.
  • The sweet spots still exist on partner airlines. M&M's fixed partner chart (Star Alliance airlines other than SWISS/LH/Austrian) often offers the best value — especially on routes to Asia, South America, and Africa.
  • The best redemptions are found, not planned. Being positioned with miles in your account and checking regularly — especially Flying Blue on the 1st of each month — is more important than any specific strategy document.
